Retirement & Reporting

You will be able to effectively communicate this information to stakeholders, as GOs serve as proof of ownership.

By purchasing these certificates, your organization gains custody of the associated green gas and all related benefits.

This ensures transparency and credibility in demonstrating your commitment to sustainability and renewable energy.

Scope 1

Biomethane Guarantees of Origin (GOs)

The Biomethane GO scheme in Europe gives the opportunity to mitigate Scope 1 emissions as a green alternative to Natural Gas, both under voluntary and compliance schemes.

‍Biomethane Guarantees of Origin serve as evidence of production and injection of Methane Gas (commonly known as Natural Gas) from renewable feedstocks.

‍It is used as a traceability tool of ownership of the renewable gas. Each Biomethane GO represents 1 MWh of Renewable Gas.

Biomass Types

Used when producing the green gas. We have 3 broad groupings:
‍Energy Crops: Specifically cultivated crops for the use of being turned into a fuel.
‍Waste: Biogenic waste, such as sewage sludge or food waste.
‍Manure: Highest reductions in CO2 through methane avoidance, usually reserved for transport market.

Time Structures

We can provide past, current, or future year production.
Additionally, we can provide long term agreements, with durations ranging from 3 to 10 years.
For 10+ years, we can help you build a greenfield asset, a new project where you will be the owner, achieving full additionality.

For some of these, additional information from what is shown on the GOs will be needed and we will issue a PoS (Proof of Sustainability) certificate together with the GO in order to allow for full compliance.
